How to get a library card
Who can become a registered reader:
- citizens over 15 having capacity to enter into legal acts
- public institutions having their seat in the Czech Republic
- the European Union countries citizens including those from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland after presentation of their valid identity card
- people from other countries after presentation of their valid passport and valid residence permit
What is necessary to get your library card:
- all applicants must provide adequate evidence of identity (valid identity card - for Czech citizens, valid passport and/or residence permit - for foreigners)
- it is important to provide evidence of your temporary or permanent address in the Czech Republic; otherwise you will have to pay a deposit of 150,- per book
- money for paying the registration fee
- to fill in the application form and undertake to observe the library rules
Where to get your library card:
- at the registration desk on the first floor of the library
Why is registration advantageous to you:
- it enables you to borrow books outside the library
- you can use separate study boxes on the 5th floor
- you can register in the library parking system and use our car park
- you can register in the SafeQ system and use our copying machines
The library allows the registration fee reduction to:
- people over 60 after presentation of their valid identity card
- handicapped people
- students under 26 after presentation of their valid study certificate
- students under 20 have free registration
- people over 65 have free registration
